92.3 FM News Update January 2011 |
|
7th February 2011 marks one year since 92.3 FM switched over to 24/7 local programming. New programs featured throughout the later half of 2010 with more planned for 2011.
4TVR has come a long way in 12 months. We began broadcasting from a small caravan in Park Avenue Mareeba. Our local programming and technical team faced many daily challenges of keeping the station on air while working in a very confined space.
During April 2010 we moved to our current location at Level 2, 143 Byrnes Street Mareeba.
This move has helped us to establish a second recording studio, which assists in the production of locally produced material, interviews and station news and community service announcements.
We’d like to take this opportunity to welcome our new volunteers who are taking up various roles in the areas of announcing, administration, sponsorship and program production.
Your comments and feedback are always welcome. If you would like to join our team, please email our station manager assistant at

92.3 FM is making the switch |
|
Monday 1st February, 2010
After many months of hard work by our members and community volunteers we will finally begin to broadcast our own programming this weekend. Test transmissions will start this Friday 5th February, 2010.
To all our faithful listeners who enjoyed the Vision FM programming, please be advised that we will no longer be retransmitting the Vision FM signal. If you prefer to continue to listen to the Vision FM broadcast, please retune to 88.0 FM in Mareeba or check the alternative frequencies in other regional centres across the Tableland.
Otherwise, we hope that you will enjoy your new community station, 92.3 4TVR FM. Initially we will mainly be broadcasting music. Over the coming weeks, programming will gradually be expanded to include local weather and news, community announcements and interviews with members of our community.
We welcome your ideas and feedback. Please drop in or send us an email to

Thanks to receiving some much needed funding from the Community Broadcasting Foundation (CBF) and the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) we will soon be able to purchase additional broadcasting equipment to complete our basic studio for commencing live broadcasting from Mareeba. This includes:
- Audio Workstation (including a mixing desk)
- Production Computer
- Studio Monitors
- Digital Audio Recorder
- Headphones
and also an Office Computer with Software and a Printer.
Thank you so much to these organisations. Your help in getting our community station off the ground is much appreciated by the organising committee, volunteers and members of our community. |
